Testimonials:
Painting Flowers in mixed media from Imagination
Loved the process and happy with results. Instructions and demos done well.
Painting flowers from imagination
Merci Sandrine, pour ce cours qui me permet de développer ma créativité et de laisser éclater mon imaginaire.
Unbelievably creative
This is my second course with Sandrine. Every course is well constructed with numerous online guidance, prompt replies to all questions and lots of encouragement.
The interaction with other students is valuable with the opportunity to learn further tips from their experience with the course. The best treat I have given myself.
Inspiring “flowers from imagination” class
Wonderful techniques and a great class! I have gone back many times over the content to review. Sandrine is very thorough. Love this class!
I am very glad I took this class
As an artist one of the most exciting things is to be introduced to completely new ways of creating art. I thoroughly enjoyed this class every step of the way.
This class is very well organized and you can also go back as many times as you want to review each section. (even after you’re done with the class)
Everything is clearly explained and has clear video showing each step. And if you have any questions along the way, Sandrine is right there to assist you.
Sandrine is an incredible artist, so talented and has opened my eyes to many different ways of creating art. I am very glad I took this class and have already started using the things I’ve learned to create new types of artwork. LOVE IT !!!
So interesting!
This is the first course (but not the last!), that I have taken from Sandrine. I really like her paintings and when I saw one and it lead me to her website, I was hooked. This is a fairly intuitive class, with a learning curve for those (like me), who are not very familiar with painting with acrylics. I love the way Sandrine combines pen and ink with her paintings and I also love the use of patterns. So interesting! I am certain I will continue to study from this course and refer to it over and over and learn more from it each time. Thank you, Sandrine, for being a great artist and teacher. Looking forward to future courses.
One of the best online classes I have participated in
Sandrine’s class is one of the best online classes I have participated in. Wonderful techniques clearly demonstrated. I have been greatly inspired by Sandrine’s work and have already begun to use what I have learned in my own work.
I feel much more confident after taking her class.
I am so glad I purchased Sandrine’s class on painting flowers. She gives very good instruction with many new tips and tricks for painting flowers in a new and fresh way. I feel much more confident after taking her class.
Strongly recommend!
This is a mindset changing approach, which challenges left brain ‘start with the end in mind’. Starting with an abstract canvas and ‘seeing’ what it calls one to do has made me smile more often as I am working – so much more intuitive and enjoyable for me as an amateur, newly returning to art pursuits. Strongly recommend!
Very clear and easy to follow
I just finished my first postcard and canvas painting after taking your Imaginary Flowers class. I totally enjoyed learning your technique and will definitely be doing more. Your directions and videos were very clear and easy to follow. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you for re-igniting my interest in acrylics
I want to thank you for re-igniting my interest in acrylics. It’s amazing how much your instruction has me excited once more after a long, barren time in the studio!
I also teach. I want to offer more specific feedback as I know this is helpful for me. This is what I took away from your class;
*First, your presentation is professional, gentle and unhurried. I was able to soak in visual clues because you didn’t feel you needed to talk constantly (my own problem). Your set up was very easy to see and each step was clear in the process. There was no hurry and I remembered art making isn’t a race ; ) ! Sitting and looking, turning and looking again is as important as picking up a brush.
*Negative space and how important it is to composition. When painting the white space I realized how my composition can get fussy and is more powerful when less objects occupy an interesting space. I used titanium white liquid acrylic as this built up in glazing types of layers.

You are a generous teacher and I loved this class!! Kind regards,
PM
I am really enjoying your class!
I am really enjoying your class! This piece was such fun for me. It is part of a 6 – piece series I am doing called “On the Table”. Looks much better in my studio than the photo depicts…so thank you! I will share my other pieces as they finish. This one has to be varnished yet and framed.
I’m hooked!
I watched your online lesson the other day and got straight to work. It was such a fun process. I’m hooked! I am a full-time artist and usually paint tons of portraits. I do love painting people but the florals are a nice break from the routine 🙂
Thanks for your well-organized, inspiring online class.
I can’t tell you how much I love working in this way!
Sandrine, THANK YOU for your demo and instructions on creating abstract flowers with negative space.
I can’t tell you how much I love working in this way! It’s so relaxing and is such a refreshing way to look at painting. Every part of it is fun: the background, the looking for shapes, the negative painting, and the details afterwards.
This has done something for my mind that I’ve never experienced before, and I love it.
Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Great instructions and inspiration!
What a fun and spontaneous way to paint! Loved learning some new techniques. Even though I have been creating and teaching art for so many years I always feel there is more to learn. Great instructions and inspiration!
It was so good for me
Thank you very much for your flower class. It was so good for me and I think my art work will be very different now because you showed me the artful process from start to finish.
Your techniques are very honest and practical and more importantly… beautiful.
I just bought your watercolour book from amazon so look forward to that.
I wish i could do a class in person but I am in Australia…..so hopefully you will do more classes online.
Many thanks again
I’ve even sold one!
I am loving your flower painting course right now, so far I’ve only done very small ones, I’m working my way up to lager ones, I’ve even sold one!
LOVED THIS CLASS
LOVED THIS CLASS, made me realize how “tight” I get with a painting. Trying to relax and go with the flow, and cannot come close to these beautiful creations……will keep trying!!!!
Learned how to paint abstractly with Sandrine
I absolutely LOVE this way of painting! It opened up a whole new way for me to express myself.
I wish I had more time to do more…but here’s one that came out of my endeavors while watching one of Sandrine’s online videos. I ended up purchasing a video because of it.
I’m now also recreating one of a kind Artfits – The Art to Be on Etsy. Someday, I’d like to somehow do paintings on cloth, or transfer papers – so that it can cross over from painting to textiles. www.etsy.com/shop/thearttobe
Exciting Techniques
I enjoyed this class immensely. I learned how to use materials I already had more effectively and in new, exciting ways. I especially liked the layering process…the building of design and “discovering” flowers, stems & leaves in the random mish-mash of shapes and colors. I highly recommend this class for those wanting to break out of the traditional floral-painting mode.
Great Artist, Great Art-Teacher
I want to share with everybody about the experience I had taking 3 online classes an a book from Sandrine Pelissier.
I first bought the book of Fearless Watercolor for beginners. I highly recomemd this book for those who want to learn how to paint in watercolors. It teaches you step by step how to use watercolors and how to apply the different kind of techniques you can use. It also explains you the types of watercolor papers as well as the brushes. With this book it gives the energy to start painting with watercolor and the inspiration to learn more about it.
Once I read the whole book and made all the techniques from the book, I wanted to keep practising not only in watercolor but also with other medium, I took painting Imaginary Flowers. This online class was fun, beautifull, and the most important, relaxing class! Here you put in practice your imagination and creativity! There is no wrong or right here, you just need to have a grest time doing this!!
Also, I took 26 Weeks of Training and Inspiration. This is another of her online classes that I was addictived! I learn a lot here. It gave me the discipline to do it every day for 26 week. Of course, you can do it at your own pace, but I was hooked with this class. I highly recommend it!! If there were a second part, with my closed eyes I would do it!!
Lastly, I took the Express yourself, creative well being class. It was another class that helps you know yourself through your paint. This was fun. I enjoyed a lot!!
Awesome tutorials and a Great teacher!
After admiring Sandrine’s art for quite some time, constantly pinning her artwork and wishing I had talent like her! I took the plunge and and I’m so glad I did! Sandrine makes art fun and her techniques are very easy to follow. Before I knew it I was creating beautiful mixed media floral art! And for the first time I actually loved what I painted! Sandrine is not only very talented, she is also very kind and generous with her time. She’s quick to answer any questions you have and always does so with a sweet disposition.
She gave me confidence in myself, which is priceless! I learned so many techniques and I was exploring different mediums I’ve never heard of let alone used before! I’ve used some of the techniques I learned in this class on other types of art, not just florals. My eyes were opened up to so many different things by this one class.
There are not enough words to explain how grateful I am to Sandrine, she put a little spark of light into my art and I’m forever thankful for her generosity.
Both relaxing and thrilling
In this course it is both relaxing and thrilling to not have to preplan your artwork. Instead you get to play with paint for awhile and then discover the flower shapes you want to bring out. No pressure. No critic saying you can’t do this because you start out with no plan or expectation; just play. It is also great fun to find flowers that don’t have to resemble any from nature. You can’t really fail when you make up a flower. I find it fun and freeing to paint this way, and the results are rewarding, too.
Hi Sandrine,Thanks for your follow-up
Hi Sandrine,
Thanks for your follow-up (it’s motivated me more!). I haven’t started the course yet as I am setting up a little studio for myself in a garage where I plan to work 1 full day per week, at least. The weather in Sydney at the moment is very hot and humid and the studio (a metal 2-car garage) is too hot to work in (no air con etc.) but from April onwards it will be delightful and that’s when I plan to do the exercises in your course. So for now I’m setting things up and buying materials. I will let you know when I start and how I’m going.
Thank you for asking and thank you for offering such a safe way for people to get tuition in the privacy of working alone. (My 3 experiences with art tuition classes here in Sydney when I was younger were poisonous and it left me with a deep ambivalence about pursuing what seems to be a natural interest of mine.)
Your courses seem like a great way for me to “get back on the horse” – you leave us alone to go at our own pace but your presence and availalbity is always there – very reassuring without being intrusive. Thanks so much, Sandrine,
Sincerely
Francesa
Painting Flowers from Imagination was a really fun course
Painting Flowers from Imagination was a really fun course. The technique is very stress free. I did one painting and I thought it was way too dark and was going to gesso over it. (Normal stressing) However, Sandrine tells you how to use pastels, watercolor or acrylic to work the painting and bring out color or change color and make it what you want. Sandrine takes you through the process step-by-step and I found all my questions answered as I went along in the course. I would recommend this to anyone from beginner to experienced painter. If you like to draw, the patterns are really fun to work out and to see how they transform your paintings.
Thank you, Sandrine for this
Thank you, Sandrine for this great course. I love it.
It really makes fun working in this way and getting new inspiration.
I really enjoyed this class.
I really enjoyed this class. It was well- paced and clearly explained. I was very happy with the work I produced, and now I’m motivated and have gotten back into painting again!
I was fascinated by images
I was fascinated by images of Sandrine’s imaginary flowers. I am enjoying the lessons and looking forward to seeing my own finished pieces.
Hi Sandrine, thank you
Hi Sandrine, thank you for your wonderful class which I have really enjoyed!! I am hoping to make some cards from my paintings and hoping to experiment more using the techniques i have learnt from you. I have emailed my friend in Austria and told her about your wonderful classes – they have been in Lock – Down in Austria for over 3 months so I thought she would appreciate your art courses to give her some inspiration.
Kind regards Tracey Wright.

I’m having trouble finding the website to log into this class. I’ve seen such beautiful work posted as of late and wanted to jump in again and see how it goes. I purchased this class June of 2015 but have been away for a while. Definately wanting to return and join in on the fun.

Thanks Roxie!
I am very happy to hear that 🙂

Hi there,
I’m interested in taking this class but I need to see a supply list first. Also I see you mention ‘yupo’ paper – this is not avaliable in my country. Can I use something else?
Looking forward to your reply.
Kind regards,
Lee
Thank you
Sandrine Pelissier
Hello Lee,
For the class you have a choice of painting on canvas or on yupo paper, both will work with the technique I am using.
Here is the supplies list from the class:
_ Canvas or board if you want to work on yupo paper mounted on board. (I recommend a square size of about 12 x 12 inches to start with).
_ If you are going to mount the yupo paper on board, you will also need a sheet of yupo paper big enough for your canvas, extra heavy gel medium and a spatula or stiff brush.
_ Gesso if you chose to work on gessoed board
_Liquid acrylic paints, or inks or watercolor
_Markers or dipping pen and ink
_Nupastel in a dark color or graphite
_Rubbing or Isopropyl Alcohol
_White acrylic plus a few colors, gel medium if your acrylics are very opaque.
_Krylon workable fixative
_A few brushes
_Varnish
_Optional: Markers, crayons, colored pencils, pastels….
